History

For the past 60 years the Harrison family has built many of the finest homes in the Denver area. In 1955 Aubrey and Pauline Harrison started building custom homes. By the 1960s, Harrison became known as one of the most respected home builders in the area.

In the 1970’s, the second generation of Harrisons, Lynn and Rod along with Lynn’s wife Jennie, became integral to the company operations. Most of the homes were built in newly the developed neighborhoods, at the time, of Greenwood Village and Cherry Hills Village, such as Greenwood Oaks, Greenwood Highlands, Greenwood Pines, Cherry Hills East, Charlou in Cherry Hills, and Chaumont in Cherry Hills. The 1980’s and 1990’s focused on demolishing older Cherry Hills Village homes and building new, old world homes. Additionally, the Harrison family was successful in the new Glenmoor golf community of Cherry Hills Village as well as in Castle Pines.

To this day, the business continues to thrive in finding the best sites and building the finest custom homes in Cherry Hills Village, Greenwood Village, Denver and the surrounding areas. In the 2000’s, the historic family building tradition transitioned to its third generation, Scott Harrison and his wife Christie. Over the last decade, presold business has become the norm for the Harrisons. Focusing only on presold business, rather than speculative projects, directly benefits client homeowners as Harrison Custom Homes, Inc. has no looming business debt associated with spec projects. If a homebuilder also builds speculative projects, the spec project debt can create significant risks for a homeowner, such as builder insolvency and bi-furcated attention and resource focus. Selecting a builder that does not undertake spec projects is a significant benefit to homeowner clients.

Today, the Harrisons continue to prosper due to their continued dedication to quality and homeowner satisfaction. They are known for disciplined bidding, detailed budgets, unsurpassed artisans, state-of-the-art project management, interfacing with engineers and architects, and exceeding homeowners’ expectations.
